The aim of this site is to provide up to date information for owners, sailors and interested parties regarding National Folkboat activities in the United Kingdom.

The Folkboat is one of the most popular cruiser racer sailboats ever designed. Originating from Scandinavia in the early 1940's as weekend camping cruiser, the class quickly prospered and became a popular one design racing boat.

Today new boats are still being constructed and the class retains a world-wide appeal, with large fleets in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Holland, UK, Ireland and the US. At times over 100 boats regularly compete in Gold Cup championship events. 

The site is administered by the National Press Officer and Website Editor on a voluntary basis with information provided by sailors, class members and clubs throughout the United Kingdom.
