The aim of this website is to provide up to date information on what is happening around the UK with Folkboats. It is open for anyone connected with folkboats to submit articles and news. All relevant articles once edited by the website editor will be posted on the site, so please make them interesting for one and all. Information on fleets outside the Solent would be most welcome and also from our International friends.
Some interesting facts and people who have sailed folkboats:

- It is the most successful design ever to compete in the ISC Round the Island race, which in turn is the UK 's largest Yacht race
- It is the only design to have won the Gold Roman Bowl (Island Sailing Club-Round the Island Race, overall) no fewer than 5 times
- Last year saw both Iain Percy and Steve Mitchell (Star World Champions & Gold Olympic Medalists) compete in a folkboat at Cowes Week
- This year the Folkboat appeared as a front cover feature of Yachting World, September edition. (Cover featured on site).
- The editor of Practical Boat Owner-Sarah Norbury, raved about her folkboat sailing experience during Poole regatta this year.
- David Glenn (Deputy editor Yachting World) enjoyed an excellent days racing at Cowes week on board a folkboat in 2004.
- Other notable people who have raced a folkboat for a day or two are Stuart Jardine (XOD Captains Cup winner 5 times, ex European J24 Champion to name just a few of his sailing achievements). Ian Pinnell (ex 505 World Champion and National Fireball Champion plus part of the illustrious Pinnell & Bax sailmaking and Chandlery team)
This puts into perspective the yacht's pedigree and the enjoyment various people have gained from the folkboat whether cruising, racing or just enjoying its qualities.
