but sadly was not the overall winner of the
Cruiser division coming 2nd. Sally racing
Pilgrim was 9th overall in the Nordic
division. Very creditable results by both
of them!!
Once again our thanks go to the race
management team, led by RSYC chief
Race Officer Jeremy Willock, for ensuring
that we had a full week of racing in spite
of the challenges of the weather. We
should also not forget the mark layers
and, of course, the catering staff who
looked after us so very well.
The final race of the regatta has been
renamed the Bernard Turner Trophy race
with a new prize of a painting of, we
think, Bernard’s first Folkboat presented
by David Fox. Fittingly won for the first
time by Madelaine, helmed by Ed Donald
an RSYC member in the Nordic division
and Folkdance Susan Rutter in the Classic
division.
Looking back over the years this special
week has always managed to complete
all of the planned racing and even some
of the outdoor social activities have taken
place despite the rain!
