Folkboat racing
Both Nordics and British/Classsic Folkboats race. The Nordics mostly race scratch as a fleet. With the biggest fleet in Lymington. Yarmouth and Lymington race a lot together and sometimes with the Hamble fleet. They race most weekends throughout the seasonwith both Lymington and Yarmouth having weekday evening races. The British/Classic Folkboats normally race in handicap classes but at some regattas they all race together (Cowes Classic Week). Folkboats race in mixed classes at many yacht and sailing clubs all round the country from the Firth of Clyde to Falmouth and the East Coast. There are also opportunities to race in Europe, mostly in Germany and Scandinavia. The Folkboat Gold Cup for Nordics is held in a different country each year.

Folkboat week
Folkboat Week is the biggest gathering of Folkboats of all kinds each year. Held at the end of August in Yarmouth, hosted by the Royal Solent Yacht Club. Not all boats race, there is scratch racing for the Nordics and Handicap racing for everyone else. With a variety of different types of races; round the cans, long distance and windward/leeward races and social gathering each evening there is something for everyone.
