Racing Skills Regatta 19th – 21st June 2026

The Race Skills Regatta is a great opportunity for Folkboat sailors of all levels; from beginners to experts; to have an opportunity to learn, improve and practice their race craft and skills. With expert insights from International Racing Coaches , Race Officers , Cy Grisley our Technical Chairman will be the lead coach for the Folkboat Class.
This is an opportunity not to be missed!
What to expect:
Friday evening 19th June in the HRSC (Hamble River Sailing Club) Clubhouse – Race Rules explained by a senior RYA rules Judge.
Saturday Morning 20th June in the HRSC Clubhouse introduction to the coaches, the race team and our panel of experts to explain the day and pass on tips and answer your questions ahead of racing
Saturday Morning/Afternoon — On the Water a series of short simple windward/leeward races back to back to maximise the opportunity to practice race craft including tactics, teamwork and manoeuvres on the course. For those boats wishing to participate, a professional coach can also provide individual one on one race coaching.
Saturday Afternoon post racing back into the clubhouse for a de-brief with the Coaching Panel, winning boats will feedback and tips on what went well, lessons learned and what to work on.
Saturday Evening Social – Drinks in the HRSC Clubhouse
Sunday 21st June- a series of windward leeward races finishing off back at the river. A great opportunity to put into practice new skills.
